Math Placement test Proctoring

The University of Wyoming uses ALEKS PPL for their Math Placement test and requires these exams to be proctored. A student may come to one of the on-campus proctoring sessions at no cost or they may use the online proctoring system, Honorlock, that is integrated into ALEKS for a cost of $10 plus tax per test attempt. On-campus proctoring is only available at certain times and locations, while Honorlock proctoring is available 24/7. Please see detailed information about each option below. 

Cost - $10 plus tax for each test attempt, via debit/credit card.  Payment will be requested when you log in to take the exam.

Honorlock is the remote proctoring system for ALEKS PPL.  You can take the test anywhere you have an appropriate testing space, hardware, and good internet connection, and anytime 24/7 with no scheduling required. 

Using Honorlock proctoring requires you to use a Google Chrome browser, download the Honorlock extension.

To be counted as a proctored session you MUST follow all applicable Honorlock guidelines.  Honorlock will not tell you that you are violating a guideline while you are taking the exam.  If one of the guidelines is found violated in the review of your test your score will not be loaded [and you may need to retake the test in person].

FAQ: If Honorlock has launched and told you that you are ok to take the test and you see a submit password screen, just hit submit even though the field is empty. Honorlock is supposed to automatically submit the password for you but there is a glitch for some students where they must manually hit “submit”.

No registration necessary, just show up on at the test location on the day and time of a session.

Fall and Spring Semester they will have established proctoring dates. They will usually be in 3 hour time blocks, although students will still only have 2 hours to finish the exam.

If you plan to arrive after the first hour has passed, please email math-registration@uwyo.edu, so they can alert the proctor that there will be a late arrival. The time block will not be extended, so you will be forfeiting your time to take the test if you come more than an hour after the session start time.
